I am Steve Miller, a teacher in San Diego County, and along with my wife Flo, greatly enjoy spending time at our house in Calico. Our little terrier, Molly, also has fun with us in the desert. Calico Cosmic Retreat is perfect for a small group or a romantic desert get away.
I had visited Calico as a child and love the serene peaceful atmosphere of the Mojave desert. After visiting a number of desert locations, I kept returning to the multi hued Calico Mountains. When we saw the view of the Calico Mountains from the back of the house, we knew this was the retreat we were looking for and purchased our house. My young daughter loves hiking in the local canyons.

Calico Cosmic Retreat had a wonderful layout with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, along with a spacious kitchen and living room, but did need some work.

We had a great time remodeling Calico Cosmic Retreat top to bottom. Furnishing and decorating were lots of fun and inspired by the majestic desert vistas and mountains.
It is exciting to share both the area and our retreat. Offroading right from our property into the surrounding mountains is quite an experience.
Spending time on family hikes, cooking and eating meals together, stargazing and taking peaceful walks, have created some extremely special memories.
It is a joy to interact with our guests and help others create special memories, as well!
